Performs classification and compensations studies.Maintains all personnel and training records.Assist with labor relations, negotiations, performance evaluations, investigations, discipline and grievances.Working closely with City departments to identify and provide training to City staff.Perform all aspects of recruiting and pre-employment hiring.

The Human Resources Department is constantly striving to evolve and be that help to the City as a whole. Human Resources helps to be a bridge that connects those employees with purpose. Even if an employee doesn’t start out with that mind set, after some time of working with the City - it gives them an opportunity to use energy, ideas and their individual talents to benefit our residents and visitors combined. City employees are highly valued and this department believes that City employees understand that they are an integral part in helping to improve the ultimate well-being for our community. When employees work for the City, it gives them more than just a paycheck. This department believes that we have to cut to the heart of what makes people want to go to work every day, and that is ‘purpose’. Part of Human Resources’ challenge is to set the City of Crescent City apart from other employers as an employer of choice, so that we may be able to recruit the best and brightest candidates into our City family. The department’s mission is to use fair and equitable practices to hire, develop, support and retain a highly qualified workforce within the City.
